A glimpse behind the curtain: Naya Connect is taking shape

Naya Connect behind the scenes.

Oct 1, 2025

Hey there,

We've been heads-down in the workshop lately, and we wanted to pull back the curtain and show you what's been going on. You're part of the VIP Secret Access Club for a reason — you get to see the things no one else does. And today, we're giving you a front-row seat to the prototype development process.

The raw materials

It starts with simplicity: raw aluminum round bars. These solid cylinders might not look like much sitting on the workbench, but they hold all the potential in the world. This is where Naya Connect begins — before the cuts, before the curves, before it becomes the tool you'll use every single day.

There's something beautiful about holding that raw material in your hands. It's heavy. It's solid. And it's exactly what we need to create a keyboard body that can take a beating and still look pristine years down the line.

PCB printing in progress

While the mechanical side is getting dialed in, our electrical engineering team has been printing PCBs. These aren't off-the-shelf components — they're custom-designed circuit boards that will power every keystroke, every module interaction, every seamless connection.

Watching these boards come to life is honestly one of the most satisfying parts of the process. Each trace, each component placement, each solder point represents hundreds of hours of design iteration. And when they come back from printing? That's when things start to feel real.

Cutting the extrusion

Then comes the fun part: cutting the aluminum keyboard body extrusion. We've been capturing small snippets of this process, and honestly, it's mesmerizing. Between molten aluminum being squeezed out of of a Naya-Type-shaped hole and cutting it into keyboard sized pieces. The rough cuts here will continue on to the CNC step where they are precisely cut to match our specific tolerances. There's something deeply satisfying about watching the raw material transform into something recognizable.

Why we're showing you this

Most companies wait until everything is polished before they show their community anything. But that's not how we do things at Naya. You're not just customers waiting for a product — you're part of this journey. You placed that $5 deposit because you believed in what we're building, and we want to make sure you see exactly what that looks like.

These prototypes are the foundation for everything that comes next. Every lesson learned here, every adjustment we make, every detail we refine — it all feeds directly into the final product you'll receive. And because you're in the VIP tier, you're getting access to the absolute best version of Naya Connect at the best price we'll ever offer.

The public likely won't see these updates. They won't know what went into making this keyboard. But you do. And when Kickstarter launches, you'll already have your spot secured in a tier that literally doesn't exist for anyone else.

More to come soon. We're just getting started.
